چکیده

The main principles and some applications of Bragg-Fresnel multilayer optics are described. An elliptical Bragg-Fresnel multilayer lens (BFML), designed and fabricated in the IMT RAS has been used for Zdimensional focusing of the white X-ray synchrotron beam. For the beam energy of about 12 KeV the spot size checked with the knife edge method was about lpm. As an example of a successful application of this optical element in x-ray imaging, the fluorescence X-Ray scanning LURE-IMT microprobe is discussed. The results of 2-D scanning images with submicron resolution of a test object in transmission and fluorescence mode are also presented.

Principles of Bragg-Fresnel multilayer optics

2014 The paper describes the principles and theoretical models of new X-ray optical elements based on the behaviour of Bragg-Fresnel diffraction. The use of volume diffraction permits one to achieve better spatial resolution compared with conventional plane optics and bending mirrors. The construction of Bragg-Fresnel elements combines the advantages of high-resolution Fresnel optics with stabi...

Fresnel lenses for X-ray and Gamma-ray Astronomy

Phase Fresnel lenses have the same imaging properties as zone plates, but with the possibility of concentrating all of the incident power into the primary focus, increasing the maximum theoretical efficiency from 11% to close to 100%. For X-rays, and in particular for gamma-rays, large, diffraction-limited phase Fresnel lenses can be made relatively easily. The focal length is very long for exa...

Fresnel Projection Microscopy, Theory and Experiment: Electron Microscopy with Nanometer Resolution at 200 Volts

Nanotips are used as electron point sources in the Fresnel projection microscope (FPM). The FPM allows imaging in direct space of free standing nanometric fibres at working voltages around 200 V with observation of details of less than one nanometer. These observations are made without irradiation damage, particularly useful for soft materials such as organic or biological molecules (polymers a...

Fabrication of silicon kinoform lenses for hard x-ray focusing by electron beam lithography and deep reactive ion etching

The focusing of subnanometer wavelength x rays is limited by the ability to fabricate high-quality optics. In general, the resolution is of the order of the smallest feature of the optic, so nanometer spot sizes are extremely difficult to achieve with lenses made by traditional fabrication methods. In addition, gains in resolution for a given lithography limit are often made at a sacrifice of f...

XWH - 08 - 1 - 0613 TITLE : X - Ray Phase Imaging For Breast Cancer Detection

Phase retrieval is required for achieving artifact-free x-rayphase-sensitive 3D imaging. A phase-retrieval approach based on the phase-attenuation duality with high energy x-rays can greatly facilitatefor phase sensitive imaging by allowing phase retrieval from only onesingle projection image. The previously derived phase retrieval formula is valid only for small Fresnel propagator ...
